These days when you often feel losing your freedom and are constrained by the pandemic. Would you like to meet again with KITE, the symbol of freedom in the skies? I want to take you to your childhood and make you feel those free days. Let’s get acquainted with kite again in 5 points!

If you had the opportunity to meet the kite in your childhood, especially if you struggled for hours to make the most beautiful kite and happily took the ropes when it was finished, you will feel that a door is opened to the past and returned to your memories while reading this blog. Kite means many different things to those who spent their childhood with it. Even if we don’t realize it, we have actually experienced a reflection of all the concepts and emotions that we encounter later in life:

  • The kite was our first childhood love. We learned commitment from it as the two ends of a rope.
  • The kite was a symbol of our tenacity. It was not “with the wind” but “despite the wind”.
  • The kite was the only friend of our loneliness. It was alone in the sky, and we were alone in the ground.
  • The kite was the sole teacher of our patience. We learned from him to wait for the wind to come out and the air to clear up.
  • The kite was the concrete sample of our forwardness. As we ran on the ground, it would rise in the skies.

Most importantly, we were the kite, it was our most beautiful reflection. We would work devotedly and start making the most beautiful kite that reflects us. Sometimes, we would try to

  • Make a hexagonal kite with all our perseverance and patience,
  • Sometimes, make a devil kite out of papers,
  • Sometimes, equip the star kite with frills,
  • Sometimes, be happy by tying a rope to a bag.

But no matter what, we would have taken that kite out of our hands and fly it with our own hands. Even if you have never flown a kite, watching people flying and witnessing their rise in the sky will be enough to make you happy and make you feel the same.

While watching other kites, never think that flying and doing a kite is an easy thing. There are many factors you depend on to be able to fly a kite. First of all, the construction of that kite is very important:

  • The material from which it is made must be neither too heavy nor indurable. You need to make a kite that is both light and durable.
  • In addition, it is very likely that you will need your high school physics knowledge in its making. You need to be careful to adjust the center of gravity to the middle of the kite.
  • At the same time, you should set the tail at or close to the ideal length. It should be neither too long nor too short.
  • If your kite contains a reel, it is vital for practicality that the reel has a structure that allows you to release and collect quickly.

We rushed to the meadow, garden, street, field to fly the kite that came out of our hands… We would keep our eyes open so that our kite would not be harmed, and we would protect it from all kinds of dangers.

  • We would stay away from power lines and be careful not to hit the wires.
  • We would find a large area with the wind so that both our kite and we would not fall.
  • We were like flowers blooming on sunny days, lightning strikes, and rainy weathers were not for us.
  • We would never let go of the rope because we wouldn’t let our dreams fly away.

If you want to take your dreams to the skies and fly them, here are all the necessary equipments:

  • Paper or nylon
  • Lath
  • Rope
  • Band
  • Scissors

You can easily find these materials and start making a kite right away.

“Happiness is the art of making a bouquet of those flowers within reach.” There is an age limit to neither know how to be happy nor to fly a kite. Are you ready to make a kite from these materials that you have access to?
